Evening of Promise 2004

I am happy to report that CASA’s 5th Annual Evening of Promise was huge success. A record attendance of 240 guests shared in the festivities and helped CASA net over $65,000 to help continue our advocacy work for abused and neglected children throughout Contra Costa County.

Co-anchor for the 10 O’clock News, Leslie Griffith received the CASA Light of Hope Award for “her consistent and generous support of CASA and for being a light of hope to children, to her profession and to her community.“

The highlight of the evening was a moving video presentation generously created and donated to CASA by Albert Clark Jr.

Excitement was provided by the feverish pitch at which live auction item bids escalated. The item that encouraged the highest bidding was an Oakland Raiders Helmet donated by Glen Perry, owner of Pacific Security Real Estate Services, and signed by many members of the 2003 team including Jerry Rice and Tim Brown.

We deeply appreciate the hard work of our planning committee and the CASA supporters who volunteered that evening to help ensure that everything went according to plan. Special thanks to Judge Lois Haight, Presiding Judge of the Contra Costa Juvenile Court, and Commissioner Steve Easton for their support and presence at our event.

Of course all of this would not have been possible without the generosity of our Board, our auction item donors and table sponsors, those who purchased individual tickets or program ads, and our presenting sponsor SBC.

We hope to see you all next year for our Fifth Evening of Promise.
